Tara Buck mentions K-11 on her blog


As of late, Tara has been cast in a wide variety of character roles in indie films, including Storage (starring with Tom Everett Scott), Boot Tracks (starring with Michelle Monaghan, Stephen Dorff and William Defoe) and K-11 (starring with Goran Visnjic), all of which are heading to film festivals worldwide in early 2012.


Exciting to hear about K-11 being possibly included in film festivals next year.

Tara Buck will be guest-starring as Kasey Monrad episode "Bitch" on the new series Prime Suspect opposite Maria Bello.  Thursdays 10/9c on NBC.

Peoria Hispanics want their presence in central Illinois to be known.

So the group is sharing its heritage by hosting a Latin-American film festival starting Thursday and running through Oct. 12.

Films will be screened at the Peoria Public Library's North Branch, 3001 W. Grand Parkway. All films start at 5:30 p.m.

Cesar Vargas, secretary of Peoria Hispanics, said the screenings are free and open to the public.

"I picked films that are classics and represent the Latino experience here in the United States," Vargas said.

The series is a nod to Hispanic Heritage Month, the period from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The U.S. government estimates more than 50 million Hispanics are living in the U.S., making it the largest and fastest growing minority group.

- Sept. 29: "Under the Same Moon" - a 2007 film about a young Mexican boy who travels to the U.S. to find his mother after his grandmother passes away. Stars Kate del Castillo, Eugenio Derbez. Rated PG-13. (1:46)

Toronto 2011: Intandem Chalks Up Foreign Sales For Rob Heydon's 'Ecstasy'



TORONTO
– Intandem Films has sold Rob Heydon’s Ecstasy, based on the Irvine Welsh novel, to around 20 territories, including Portugal, the Czech Republic and South Africa.

Through a deal with Germany’s Senator Films, Ecstasy will also be distributed to a number of German-speaking territories.

Heydon's $5 million film, based on Welsh's follow up novel to Trainspotting and starring Kristin Kreuk and Billy Boyd, was first shopped to buyers at Cannes, and now in Toronto.

Ecstasy will have its world premiere at the Atlantic Film Festival, and is expected to screen at the London Film Festival in October.
