K-11 opening as a platform release in 15 US cities on March 15

Jules Stewart, mother of Twilight star Kristen Stewart, has been in Hollywood for some time, working as script supervisor on projects since the late '80s, but now she's looking to branch out into directing and she's starting things off with K-11, which Breaking Glass Pictures has just announced they'll be releasing in fifteen cities March 15 as a platform release*, including Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, Denver, Tempe and Philadelphia.

Stewart penned the script which stars Kate Del Castillo as Mousey, a malicious transgendered inmate who takes charge in Los Angeles County Jail's LGBT section, and Goran Visnjic (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) whose drug use leads him straight into Mousey's charge after he commits a crime in the haze of drug use.

* Platform release means that it will open as a limited release to gradually expand to more theatres.
