Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired North American distributiion for Christian Filippella's comedy "Silver Case" with plans for a theatrical release in March, followed by a VOD and home video release on May 7.
"Silver Case" stars Eric Roberts, Seymour Cassel, Shalim Ortiz, Vincent De Paul, Claire Falconer, Brian Keith Gamble and Chris Facey.
Story, penned by Filipella, centers on a powerful producer (Roberts) who hatches a plan to undermine the future success of his shady arch rival. His plot begins with the delivery of a silver briefcase, which soon goes missing, setting off a chain of events.
Shot in Los Angeles and Italy, "Silver Case" premiered at the Rome International Film Festival in 2011 and won the Spirit of Independent Award at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival.
Today [February 10] the first-ever CineMayhem Film Fest was announced by founder Heather Wixson, producer and horror journalist with DreadCentral.com. Created as a launch event to kick off Dread Central's third annual Indie Horror Month this March, CineMayhem will celebrate the past, present and future of independent genre filmmaking at the Muvico Theaters in Thousand Oaks, California, on March 2nd and 3rd.
Created as a way to pay homage to and celebrate the spirit of independent filmmaking and those unafraid to take risks with their storytelling, CineMayhem's diverse line-up includes advance screenings of two highly anticipated genre projects including Magnet Releasing's visceral horror anthology THE ABCs OF DEATH and Breaking Glass Pictures' mind-bending drama K-11 directed by Jules Stewart (Crank: High Voltage, Mortal Kombat).
